How has it changed peoples lives?
Aluminium foil has done numerous things over the years, most of it has been used for cooking. The humble everyday appliance was introduced into human society in 1903 (for more details click here) becoming an instant trend to home cooks and big businesses. Aluminium foil was introduced into the world by a man named Robert Victor Neher.
Aluminium foil has done many things over the years storing food and wrapping confectioneries so they won't spoil. Its invention has proven extremely useful, but aluminium foils unchanged self, aluminium, was used for war being placed in bombs for cruel and vile uses.

Aluminium wasn't used entirely for warfare, instead the aluminium was made into cans to supply food to those in need some lucky people also got bits of chocolate wrapped in aluminium foil these where a luxury and where very dear to most people. The discarded cans where given to children to play with during the war, some children used them to build toys such as Walkie Talkie (shown on the right) and any leftover metal was collected by authorities to be smelted down to make bombs which leads back to the dark side of aluminium.
The uses of Aluminium where huge but aluminium foil wasn't, being extremely fragile it was hard to use for anything other than wrapping food so it ended up playing a minor roll. Although Aluminium foil wasn't as popular back then as it is now it still functioned in wrapping small confectioneries. Today it is used in a variety of things such as chip packets, wrapping paper (yes it can be used to wrap presents), cooking and art but it is most preferred for wrapping utensil. Aluminium foil had a distinct advantage over other food wrappers by keeping the food odourless it tasted better keeping customers happy.
Aluminium foil has slightly changed how humans live but it is no great discovery like electricity or uranium, but it is still very likely to be continued to be used although it will have no majorly significant value like water, more likely than not it will become replaced by a cheaper and more sustainable form of wrapping material but aluminium foil however slight has still changed the human race.
